·
Places within the division will not
be reassigned after 8 weeks as we did last year.
That just caused a lot of confusion.
(That’s
why placing each couple in the right order to form divisions at the beginning of
the
season
MUST be based on each person’s current GHIN handicap –
otherwise, the idea of not
having
to exchange so many strokes won’t work).
·
You may pay anytime
starting on March 15th and up to April 27th.
DEADLINE
TO SIGN UP AND PAY IS APRIL 27th - $45.00 PER PLAYER
·
The teams will be rotated
differently this year so everyone has the opportunity to play with everyone
else, since two objectives of this league are to meet new people and make new
members feel welcome. The
rotation will be:
o
1st
Quarter: A1 vs. A2 and B1 vs.
B2
o
2nd Quarter:
A1 vs. B1 and A2 vs. B2
o
3rd Quarter:
A1 vs. B2 and A2 vs. B1
o
4th Quarter:
A1 vs. A2 and B1 vs. B2
·
Quarterly winners…
- There
will only be one quarterly winning team
- Average
of weekly net scores will be used to break ties in order to produce one
quarterly winner. Average
Gross scores will be used if further tie breaker needed.
If a team wins more than one quarter,
average net scores of teams involved in quarterly tie breakers will be used to
ensure there are 4 teams playing in the Division Playoffs.
Average net scores for the entire season for those teams will be used if
further tie breaker is needed.

- Must
sign up AND PAY by Sunday, April 27th

considered for a team position if a team (or team member) should drop out in
the division in which you fall.
TEAM

- Assigned
by team handicap – low to high
- May
be reassigned (within division) if a team drops out for some reason
- If
you know you won’t be able to continue playing on a regular basis, please
let Dick know so that the matches can be reassigned.
- If
this should happen, you may want to consider submitting your name as a
substitute.
HANDICAPS
- Starting
handicaps based on GHIN handicap on Arrow as of April 30th.
- 50%
of combined course handicaps, divided by 2
- Max
index for men – 36.4; 40.4 for women
- Converts
to a max handicap of 35 for men & 43 for women on Arrowhead.
- Adjusted
every 2 weeks, based on 2-week average team score in mixed league
- Par
(36) will be subtracted from your 2-week average to determine your allotted
handicap as a team for the next 2 weeks.
(adjustment within 2 strokes)
- If
one or the other of the partners can’t play and a substitute takes his or
her place, the handicap for that day will be based on each person’s
current handicap – not on the original players’ team handicap,
since the team member and the sub have not played together to establish a
handicap as a team for playing in the alternate shot format.
- Handicaps
for the 18-hole playoff at the end of the season will be based on 50% for
the current combined handicap at that time.
DIVISIONS
- Two
divisions – A & B
- Division
assignments will be based on team handicaps at beginning of season
- Once
the season starts, you will remain in the same division.
- The
field will be divided in half by team handicap – this will form Divisions
A & B respectively.
- The
maximum team handicap allowed will be 20
FORMAT
- Foursome
Stroke Play, where partners play one ball.
The partners play alternately from the teeing grounds and alternately
during the play of each hole.
- Two
foursomes per hole – One match from Division A and one from Division B -
as much as possible. Depending
on the number of teams in each flight or the absence of a team, there may
also be four or six players in a group some weeks.
- Rotation
in round robin format with half of division (to keep handicap differences at
a minimum)
- If
a team is absent, their scheduled opponents will win 3 points as long as
they play.
- Alternate
shot format, alternating odd/even tees, then alternating shots till holed
out
- For
ex: Week 1 – men will tee off on odd holes & women on even holes;
week 2 – women will tee off on odd holes & men on even holes, etc.
- Play
will be on front nine for 2 weeks, then on back nine for 2 weeks, etc. as
